Inspirational Quotes
I've learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances.

Since 2007, I have been conducting the P.A.L. (Pregnancy After Loss) Group, a support group specifically designed for those in the Austin area who have experienced a perinatal loss or the death of their infant, and either are contemplating another pregnancy or are already pregnant.
Who attends PAL?
PAL is for all parents, regardless of the cause for their loss, who are in any stage of pregnancy ranging from seriously considering trying again to being near delivery. Parents often experience a variety of responses to another pregnancy after having experienced a loss – confusion, fear, anxiety, doubts, anger, intrusive thoughts about the deceased baby, etc. These reactions are normal as parents embark on a journey that previously ended in the loss of their baby. Often both parents come to the meeting, but it is not required. Individual mothers and fathers are always welcome. PAL does not discriminate based on sex, ethnicity, religion, or socioeconomic status.
What happens?
During PAL, parents share what is happening to them with others who can lend support. While each person comes to PAL with individual circumstances, all participants have common concerns about what happens in a new pregnancy. PAL can help these parents manage their fears and bond with their next baby so that they are better able to appreciate your new baby for the unique person he or she is.
What are the specifics?
Unlike most other support groups, the PAL Group is a closed group, meaning the same individuals attend each of the six consecutive weekly meetings. Normally, I hold them on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. 2-3 times per year in the Community Room of the Ronald McDonald House at 1315 Barbara Jordan Blvd. The Ronald McDonald House and Charities of Central Texas sponsors the groups so they are free of charge.
